Why Bonnie
Bonnie Koenig, LAc works out of Bendigo Wellness Center in North Bend, WA.
She has been an acupuncturist since 1999. She graduated from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and has practiced in Vancouver, Washington for six years. Recently she moved up to the Seattle area and has opened her practice in Bendigo Wellness Center in North Bend, Washington.
Bonnie studied acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine at OCOM. Bonnie has mostly focused her practice on acupuncture. However, as the Snoqualmie Valley does not have many practitioners of Chinese Herbal Medicine, she is beginning to incorporate her extensive herbal education into her practice.
Bonnie has studied Jin Shin Do in Seattle and offers this form of acupressure to her clients in addition to acupuncture. While Jin Shin Do is massage based, Bonnie is always surprised at it’s efficacy in handling more internal problems.
Bonnie’s focus is in helping people improve the quality of their life. She enjoys working with people who are committed to their health. She’s happy to explain what she does with acupuncture for those who aren’t certain what they are getting into. She has worked with hundreds of different diseases and conditions, from people who have a lot of stress to those who are managing multiple chronic illness.
Bonnie says, “I don’t say I can cure everything but I can certainly improve the quality of life. Acupuncture is effective in managing side effects of medications, such as chemotherapy and it’s effective at preventing further disease. There are studies at Johns Hopkins that show that acupuncture can lower blood pressure. Everyone thinks of acupuncture as being for pain. I can minimize or get rid of pain but as an acupuncturist I can do so much more.”
At Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, Bonnie had excellent herbal training. She is looking forward to serving the Snoqualmie Valley with her herbal knowledge, as well as with acupuncture.
